The adventure begins at Kerið, a striking volcanic crater filled with emerald-green water and surrounded by vivid red slopes. The contrast of colors is so dramatic that it feels more like a movie set than a natural landscape in Iceland.
Next, we visit a lesser-known location featuring stunning red mountains that most travelers never see. Quiet, atmospheric, and far from the crowds, it’s the perfect place for those unique photos that don’t look like everyone else’s Iceland album.
A truly unexpected Icelandic experience.
Here, tomatoes are grown year-round using geothermal energy from deep beneath the earth. Warm air, lush greenery, and the scent of fresh tomatoes create a surprising contrast to the rugged Icelandic landscape outside.
We then continue to Haukadalur, the birthplace of the word “geyser.” This geothermal area is where the earth feels alive. Steam rises from the ground while hot water erupts skyward, showcasing the incredible forces hidden beneath Iceland’s surface.
No Golden Circle journey would be complete without Gullfoss, one of Iceland’s most powerful and breathtaking waterfalls. Massive volumes of glacial water plunge into a dramatic canyon, creating a display of raw natural power that is impossible to forget.
Throughout the day, there will be opportunities to meet Iceland’s famous horses. Friendly, calm, and incredibly photogenic, they are one of the country’s most beloved symbols.
To finish the day, you may choose to unwind at Laugarás Lagoon. Warm geothermal water, rising steam, and peaceful surroundings make it the perfect way to end a day of exploration.
